Product Types
This is the fundamental definition that categorizes products. It can be customized and duplicated by the user.
In the product definition, many main definitions can arrive with default values depending on the product type. This reduces repetitive data entry and ensures standardization.
Textile Industry Example
When the "Yarn" product type is selected:
- Fulfillment Method automatically defaults to "Purchasing"
- Tracking Type is automatically marked as "Lot Tracked"
- Unit of Measure defaults to "kg"
When the "Fabric" product type is selected:
- Fulfillment Method automatically defaults to "Production"
- Tracking Type is automatically marked as "Batch Tracked"
- Unit of Measure defaults to "meter"
When the "Warp" product type is selected:
- Fulfillment Method automatically defaults to "Production"
- Tracking Type is automatically marked as "Lot Tracked"
- Unit of Measure defaults to "meter"
